On May 23, Alibaba Cloud announced its investment in building new data centers in five countries worldwide, namely South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Mexico. This new round of overseas infrastructure will focus on AI facilities, aiming to expand its global presence on a larger scale.

This marks Alibaba Cloud's first entry into the Mexican market, with simultaneous plans to establish local ecosystems and service capabilities. Over the next three years, Alibaba Cloud will continue investing in constructing more overseas infrastructure and enhancing service capabilities.

Yuan Qian, President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence International Business Unit, stated: "We are committed to expanding our global market presence, not only for our customers and partners but also as a testament to our confidence in the AI era." Alibaba Cloud will intensify its investments in global infrastructure, leading to more data centers worldwide, stronger service capabilities, and closer partnerships.

As of now, Alibaba Cloud operates in 30 regions globally with 89 availability zones. Following this new investment, Alibaba Cloud's global footprint will expand to 31 regions and 95 availability zones, covering major economically active markets worldwide. The active demand in the South American region will be covered by the Mexican node, further facilitating Chinese companies' international expansion.

Alibaba Cloud's cutting-edge AI technology will make its debut internationally. The large-scale service platform, Pailian International Edition, is set to launch, offering a one-stop, fully managed service for customizing and applying large-scale models. The latest version of the foundational model, Tongyi Qianwen 2.5, will also be available through the Pailian platform's API.

In terms of the ecosystem, Alibaba Cloud is deepening its collaboration with international ecosystem partners. It has newly introduced the "Salesforce on Alibaba Cloud" course, providing training for customers, especially multinational enterprises, using Salesforce on Alibaba Cloud.
