Public information indicates that Xiao Ling, born in 1968, is a male researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He obtained his PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics at Peking University, and completed his postdoctoral research at the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998.

Xiao Ling's research mainly focuses on signal and information processing, underwater acoustics theory, parallel distributed computing, pattern recognition and image analysis, high-resolution detection, and other related areas. He has led or participated in various research projects related to medical acoustics, ocean detection, and acoustics inversion.

In recent years, Xiao Ling has been involved in research on underwater gliders and has co-authored papers such as "Measurement and Analysis of Self-Noise of Hybrid-Driven Underwater Gliders" and "Ocean Environmental Noise Measurement System Based on Underwater Gliders."
