According to the WeChat public account "Luoyang Release", Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, renowned chemical synthesis expert, and former President and Chief Engineer of Dawn Chemical Engineering Research and Design Co., Ltd., Li Junxian, passed away from sudden heart failure on March 20th, 2024, at 5:17 AM in Luoyang City, at the age of 96.

According to available information, Academician Li Junxian was born in March 1928 in Meishan City, Sichuan Province. He graduated from the National Central Polytechnic College in 1950. As a chemical synthesis expert, he was elected an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995. He has been engaged in the study of high-performance fuel and polyurethane for many years and is one of the pioneers in the field of high-performance rocket fuel and one of the founders of the polyurethane industry in China. He has presided over or participated in the development of more than 60 types of solid and liquid high-performance fuels, which have been successfully used in more than 50 types of weapon models and key national projects. He has received two National Science Conference Awards, two National Science and Technology Progress Awards, and one National Invention Award, and has been honored with such titles as "National Advanced Worker", "National Excellent Science and Technology Worker", "National Excellent Communist Party Member", and "National Moral Model".
