A Gathering of Scientists and Future Scientists

On April 20th, the "Youth China Technology·Future Science+" series was officially launched. The launch event also featured a themed exchange activity titled "What Will the World Be Like When We Grow Up? A Meeting Between Scientists and Future Scientists," where numerous science enthusiasts and young people gathered to discuss the future. 6624f56ee4b03b5da6d0d42b.jpg The "Young China Science · Future Science +" series (Volume 1) consists of five volumes, featuring 54 high-quality pieces by 52 outstanding domestic scientists from various cutting-edge fields such as aerospace, astronomy, and artificial intelligence.

"Enlightenment through Inquiry" is a series of scientific cultural lectures launched by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, dedicated to the interdisciplinary dissemination of extraordinary ideas. It aims to explore the development of science, technology, education, life, and the future with the spirit of "investigating things to gain knowledge," inviting guests from various fields such as science, education, culture, and art to share their thoughts and viewpoints.

As the organizer of the "Enlightenment through Inquiry" series and the editor of the series, Sun Degang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director (in charge of work) of the Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, believes that the publication of the "Young China Science · Future Science +" series will bring a scientific feast to young readers. The content of the series not only aims to convey knowledge but also aims to transmit the cutting-edge science and thoughts of outstanding Chinese scientists to young people, hoping to inject new vitality into the country's scientific and technological development.

Peng Bo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Hunan Publishing Group and Chairman of the Central South Publishing Media Group, stated that the "Young China Science · Future Science +" series is a collection of "Chinese scientists writing to future Chinese scientists." With contributions from over 50 frontline Chinese scientists, this series is "for Chinese youth," greatly broadening their scientific horizons and igniting their interest in science, planting the seeds of a scientifically strong nation in their hearts. This series is also "oriented towards the future," with many topics such as "When AI picks up a paintbrush, will it replace painters?" and "It's not about looking like a human, to be called a robot," full of interest. The publication of this series not only deeply interprets the value of popular science publishing but also significantly promotes scientific education for young people.

The event also featured exciting speeches and roundtable discussions. Dong Weiming, a researcher at the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech on the topic "When AI picks up a paintbrush, will it replace painters?" Xie Guangming, a professor at the School of Engineering at Peking University, and popular science creator "Modeler Lao Yuan'er" held a discussion on the theme "It's not about looking like a human, to be called a robot." Dong Weiming from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ziqian, a doctoral student at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a popular science creator, discussed how AI technology is changing our learning and lifestyle.

The event was organized by Hunan Science and Technology Publishing House, the publishing brand "Unread," and the China Science Popularization Cloud Platform "China Science Popularization Expo."
