On May 2nd, according to media reports, a Changan UNI-V caught fire at the Maping Service Area on the He-Xi Expressway in Guangxi, accompanied by explosions and black smoke, leaving the vehicle burnt to a frame.
In response, staff from Guangxi Expressway Customer Service stated that the fire had been controlled and extinguished, with no casualties reported. Changan Automobile customer service mentioned that the specific details were still unclear.
The video shows that the burning Changan UNI-V is the gasoline version with blue plates, not the plug-in hybrid iDD version. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
