80-Year-Old Chinese Language Teacher Sets Guinness World Record: Longest Career Spanning 64 Years and 33 Days

According to reports, 80-year-old Ye Yuying, a Chinese language teacher at Yuying Elementary School in Liandu District, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, has recently been certified by the Guinness World Records as the "longest-serving language teacher."

She began teaching at a rural primary school in 1960 and, at the time of submitting her Guinness record application, her career spanned an impressive 64 years and 33 days.

Born into a poor rural family in Zhejiang, Ye Yuying started teaching at the young age of 17 in 1960. In the 1990s, she founded Yuying Elementary School in Lishui and served as its principal. She wakes up at 5 a.m. every day, and even after retiring in February 1999, she continues to teach six Chinese classes per week.

Ye expressed her plans to establish a nursing home in the future, stating, "I will dedicate my limited life to society and the elderly, ensuring they enjoy their golden years to the fullest." s_dfe0f3b1d7554b388f0e146294517909.png
