According to supply chain sources, the latest vivo S19 series phones will feature a new generation silicon-carbon anode battery, with an energy density about 20% higher than traditional graphite anode batteries and approximately 16% higher than extreme graphite anode batteries. This new technology will be supplied by CATL's new energy division.
The energy density of traditional graphite anode batteries is around 372mAh/g, while the theoretical energy density of pure silicon anode material can reach up to 4200mAh/g, which is 10 times that of graphite anodes.
However, silicon anodes tend to expand during charging and discharging processes, with a high volume expansion rate of up to 300% due to the reaction between silicon and lithium. Encapsulating silicon with carbon is one effective method to address the expansion issue, leading to the birth of silicon-carbon anode batteries.
As per official information from vivo, the vivo S19/Pro will be officially launched on May 30th at 19:00, becoming the industry's first phone to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main camera and a telephoto portrait camera.
This series of phones will be available in various colors, including Smoke Blue, Pine Smoke, Peach Blossom Fan, Thousand Mountain Green, and Sword Shadow Grey.
