On March 14th, Intel launched its new top-of-the-line, limited edition i9-14900KS, boasting a record-breaking acceleration frequency of 6.2GHz. Yet, the pinnacle hasn't been reached—MSI motherboards push it even further.
Some MSI motherboards will come equipped with an OC (overclocking) profile in their BIOS. Upon updating and recognizing an i9-14900KS installed, an option titled “P-Core Beyond 6GHz+” will appear, offering several frequency tiers, with the highest reaching 6.4/5.9GHz—representing the Thermal Velocity Boost (TVB) adaptive acceleration frequency and the Turbo Boost Max 3.0 acceleration frequency, respectively.
Options also include 6.4/5.8GHz, 6.3/5.9GHz, 6.3/5.8GHz, and 6.2/5.8GHz.
It depends on the specs of your i9-14900KS.
MSI hasn't announced which motherboard models will support it yet, but it's almost certain to be from the Z790 series.
