News on March 6th highlighted a harrowing incident shared by a blogger, involving a Toyota sedan that went on a high-speed journey in an urban area, leading to a catastrophic crash that has drawn widespread attention.
The footage reveals what appears to be a Toyota Mark X sedan speeding through city streets, reaching speeds of over 100km/h, even at intersections controlled by traffic lights.
However, after overtaking a van, the car lost control due to the slippery road surface and violently crashed into the roadside.
Photos from the scene show the vehicle torn in half, with the A, B, and C pillars on the passenger side obliterated, and the rear seats ejected from the car. The passenger compartment was completely destroyed.
The casualty situation from this accident is currently unknown, but judging from the video, it seems the driver and front passenger may have miraculously escaped serious harm. It's unclear if there were any passengers in the back seat.
Additionally, it's worth noting that Chinese criminal law explicitly states that driving motor vehicles in races on public roads will result in a fine of 2,000 CNY. The offender may also face the suspension of their driving license, with a prohibition on obtaining a new license for five years. In severe cases, this behavior can be classified as dangerous driving, leading to penalties including fines and detention.
The male driver mentioned earlier, due to speeding and disregarding traffic signals, causing a serious traffic accident, may be subject to criminal charges.
