Five-Year Veteran Huawei Devices Get a Rebirth! HarmonyOS 4 Officially Upgrades 20 Devices Including Huawei P30 and Mate 20 Series

On March 6th, according to official announcements from Huawei, a total of 20 products, including the Huawei P30 and WATCH GT 3 series, have commenced the upgrade to HarmonyOS 4.

Here's the breakdown:

Smartphones include the Huawei P30, Huawei P30 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, Huawei nova 5 Pro, Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 X, and Huawei Mate 20 X 5G.

Additionally, the Honor 20, Honor 20 PRO, Honor V20, and Honor Magic2 models are also included in the upgrade. 90dc8f80-cbf6-4216-a522-cce1a7717017.jpg Wearable devices include the Huawei WATCH 3, Huawei WATCH 3 Pro, Huawei WATCH 3 Pro Classic Edition, HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 Porsche Design, Huawei WATCH GT Runner, Huawei WATCH GT Cyber, Huawei WATCH GT 2022 Classic Edition, and Huawei WATCH Buds.

Many of these smartwatches are powered by Kirin flagship processors, such as the P30, P30 Pro, Mate 20 Pro, and Honor 20, all equipped with the Kirin 980 chipset.

With the support of HarmonyOS 4, these Kirin veterans will be fully revived, enabling users to experience more new features and functionalities.

Upgrade instructions:

For smartphones:

  1. Go to Settings > System and Update > Software Update, and check for updates.

  2. In the "My Huawei" or "Services" app, go to the homepage > Upgrade Early Access > Official Version "Go to Upgrade."

For smartwatches:

On your smartphone:

  • Open the Huawei Health app.
  • Go to Devices > Select the connected smartwatch.
  • Swipe down to find Firmware Updates > Check for Updates.

On the smartwatch:

  • Navigate to Settings from the homepage or the dropdown menu.
