On March 5th, Wei Brand's General Manager and concurrently TANK Brand's General Manager, Liu Yanzhao, provided clarification regarding a recent accident, stating, "This was an accident that occurred during a customer test drive, and the salesperson who sustained minor injuries is currently in good physical condition."
Furthermore, Liu emphasized: "When crossing intersections, it's essential to stop, look both ways, and then proceed. One must remain vigilant while driving. While we have confidence in the safety of the 700 model, it's still preferable to avoid real-world incidents whenever possible."
According to the original post, a staff member from a Tank 4S store was involved in a car accident while accompanying a customer on a test drive of this vehicle.
It was reported that at the time, the Tank 700Hi4-T was making a left turn when it was hit by an oncoming freight truck. The truck was traveling at such a high speed that it couldn't brake in time, resulting in a direct collision with the passenger side door panel, where the salesperson was seated.
From the images, it can be seen that the passenger side door of the Tank 700Hi4-T was dented and the airbag deployed, but there were no other significant injuries reported. The salesperson went to the hospital for examination and found some bruising on the arm, along with ringing in the ears, while the customer on the test drive did not experience any issues.
After the accident, Great Wall promptly initiated rescue efforts. The traffic police rescue tow trucks arrived quickly, and officials dispatched personnel promptly upon confirming the individuals' conditions and addresses.
