On March 2nd, despite the Lunar New Year holidays and the traditionally slow season for car sales in February, Chery Automobile stood out with impressive figures, surpassing expectations. While most brands experienced a downturn, exceptions emerged, such as emerging players like NIO and Li Auto, as well as traditional automakers like Chery.
Recently, Chery Holdings Group unveiled its sales figures for February, totaling 143,000 vehicles, marking a remarkable 37.8% year-on-year increase. This outstanding performance has propelled Chery ahead of BYD (122,000 vehicles), making it highly likely to claim the top spot in monthly sales among domestic brands.
Among Chery Group's four major brands, Chery sold 97,562 vehicles in February, representing a 41% year-on-year increase; Jetour sold 29,017 vehicles, up by 76.6%; and the Xingtu brand sold 7,910 vehicles, marking a 56.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
Furthermore, Chery's new all-electric brand, iCAR, has launched its first model, the iCAR 03. As of now, pre-orders for this model have reached an impressive 16,728 units, indicating promising prospects for Chery's electric vehicle lineup.
Chery has announced that its four major brands are offering a subsidy replacement program worth billions, with a maximum subsidy of up to 40,000 CNY for trading in old cars for new ones.
The vehicles eligible for the maximum 40,000 CNY subsidy for trading in old cars for new ones are the Chery Tiggo 8 series and the Arrizo Star Journey ES.
There are several vehicles eligible for a maximum subsidy of 30,000 CNY for trading in old cars for new ones. For Chery, these include the Tiggo 9/7 series, the Arrizo 8 series, the Explorer 06, and the Fengyun A8. For the Star Journey brand, it includes the Lingyun. The JETOUR brand includes five models: the X70 series, the X90 series, the Dasheng series, the X70 C-DM, and the Shanhai L9.
For the iCAR brand, the QQ Ice Cream, Xiaomayi, and Shuxiangjia offer the highest comprehensive discounts of 8,000 CNY, 8,000 CNY, and 17,000 CNY respectively.
