It's reported that Xiaomi Charity Foundation was established in 2019. Prior to this, during various incidents such as epidemics in multiple regions and the heavy rain in Henan, the Xiaomi Foundation provided support in terms of supplies and funds, and also set up various scholarships in the field of education.
In 2022, the Xiaomi Foundation took the lead in supporting the cultivation of young talents in universities, launching the "Xiaomi Young Scholars" program in collaboration with various universities, with an investment of 500 million RMB, planning to cover 100 universities nationwide within 5 years.
It's understood that Peking University became the first contracted university for the "Xiaomi Young Scholars" program. The first batch of supported universities includes Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beihang University, and other 10 "Double First-Class" universities.
Lei Jun announced that the "Xiaomi Scholarship" program is aimed at full-time undergraduate and master's students in universities.
The "Xiaomi Young Scholars" program targets young teachers and researchers in fields such as computer science, electronics, communications, and fundamental sciences, supporting those who have achieved outstanding results in scientific research and possess significant innovation potential.
