Following Alibaba Cloud's announcement of "the largest-ever" price reduction, JD Cloud released a statement on the evening of the 29th, declaring the launch of a price comparison activity. JD Cloud stated, "Keep lowering prices until we hit rock bottom! We continue to compare prices across the entire network! Breaking through the lowest price! Another 10% off!" and promised "compensation if you buy at a higher price." The activity description indicates that JD Cloud's core products will continue to participate in the network-wide price comparison, including computing, storage, networking, and other products, to meet customers' full-chain service needs for cloud adoption and usage. The comparison targets specific cloud service providers, and the activity will take effect from March 1, 2024.
On February 29th, Alibaba Cloud announced a comprehensive price reduction across all its cloud products, with an average price decrease exceeding 20%, and the highest reduction reaching 55%.
This marks the largest price reduction in the history of Alibaba Cloud, encompassing over 100 products and more than 500 product specifications, spanning across all core services including computing, storage, and databases. Among these, the price of Elastic Compute Service (ECS) has been reduced by up to 36%, Object Storage Service (OSS) by up to 55%, and Relational Database Service (RDS) by up to 40%. Following these reductions, the prices of Alibaba Cloud's core products have reached the lowest in the entire industry.
Alibaba Cloud aims to make advanced public cloud services more accessible to a broader range of enterprises and developers through this significant price reduction. The goal is to accelerate the adoption and development of cloud computing across various industries in China. In the future, Alibaba Cloud will continue to annually reduce the prices of core cloud products, lowering the barrier for cloud adoption. Additionally, it will enhance the free quotas for essential cloud products, benefiting small and medium-sized enterprises.
