Huawei Takes the Lead, XPeng Follows: Nationwide High-Level Intelligent Driving with XNGP

On February 29th, news broke that Huawei had begun to roll out its high-level intelligent driving system, ADS 2.0, capable of operating nationwide, just before the year's end. Now, a second player has emerged, none other than XPeng Motors.

This afternoon, XPeng officially announced that it would immediately start rolling out its boundaryless XNGP high-level intelligent driving system to a "first batch of experienced intelligent driving users," enabling operation anywhere there's a road. They plan to continuously increase the scale of future rollouts.

It's worth noting that at Xpeng's intelligent driving New Year launch event, Xpeng set new goals: to achieve nationwide coverage of the XNGP across major cities by 2024 and to start developing the high-speed NGP for global markets. By 2025, they aim to begin global development of the XNGP.

Surprisingly, in less than two months, Xpeng is close to achieving its first goal, demonstrating incredibly fast progress.

Data shows that in 2023, Xpeng's user penetration rate for highway intelligent driving was 94.7%, and for urban intelligent driving, it was 83.2%. The average weekly user penetration rate for XNGP was 71%, with an average weekly mileage penetration rate of 40% (including both highway and urban scenarios).
