On February 29th, the domestically produced Toyota Land Cruiser Prado officially commenced its pre-sale with four models available, priced between 470,000 to 570,000 Yuan.
During the live pre-sale event, the number of reservations was displayed in real-time. Within just one hour of pre-sale opening, a staggering 5000 units were ordered.
Surprisingly, despite the emergence of more powerful and capable models like the Tank 700, Tank 500, and Equation Leopard 5 in the domestic market, the Prado remains highly sought after.
The booking page indicates that the current deposit for reserving a Prado is ¥5000, and the official display of 5000 pre-orders further confirms its strong market appeal.
According to media reports, the all-new Prado will debut its high-end model at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25th and will accept large orders, with the official launch scheduled for July 16th.
Speaking of the new car, the entry-level Prado features a retro-style design with round headlights, targeting the mid-to-large-sized hardcore off-road segment, with dimensions of 4920mm/1980mm/1860mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 2850mm.
In terms of powertrain, the domestic version will be equipped with a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor to form a hybrid system, delivering a combined maximum power of 330 horsepower (243kW) and peak torque of 630 Nm, with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
It's worth mentioning that within the ¥400,000 price range where the Prado sits, there's also the recently launched Tank 700Hi4-T, equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine plus a P2 electric motor forming a four-wheel-drive hybrid powertrain, boasting luxurious features and almost full amenities.
