Xiaomi's president, Lu Weibing, outlined the company's ambition to become one of the top five global automotive brands within 15-20 years. This entails a focus on penetrating overseas markets, although a definitive timeline for international expansion has yet to be established. For now, the primary emphasis remains on capturing the Chinese market.
During an interview at MWC, Lu Weibing disclosed that the Xiaomi SU7 is set to be officially unveiled soon, with deliveries expected to commence domestically as early as the second quarter.
Additionally, he mentioned that Xiaomi has allocated $10 billion USD (approximately 71.9 billion RMB) for the research and development of its automotive venture, spanning from entry-level to luxury segments. Multiple price points have been considered for this model.
