As of February 28th, the latest update from BMW confirms the official launch of the new BMW X2. The lineup includes three variants, with prices ranging from 316,900 to 419,900 CNY.
The new X2 features a completely revamped exterior design, departing from the previous bland aesthetics of the old model. It is now sold exclusively through imports, a departure from the previous sales strategy.
In terms of appearance, the new car draws inspiration from the design philosophy of the BMW XM, featuring newly styled headlights and adopting the "large nostril" design reminiscent of the BMW 5 Series. The grille's internal structure is simplified, complemented by a square-shaped air intake below and heat vents on both sides, giving the car a distinct sporty vibe.
From a lateral perspective, the new car adopts the design of a coupe SUV with a sloping roof similar to the X4 and X6, which is more aggressive compared to the previous model. The sleek body coupled with large-size twin five-spoke wheels reflects a strong sense of power.
In the rear section of the car, the new tail lights feature an irregularly styled smoked housing, complemented by a rear spoiler. The rear bumper adopts a highly sporty dual-layer dual-color design, enhanced with diffuser decorative panels as accents.
Excitingly, the high-performance M35i model now features a dual exhaust layout with four outlets in total, along with upgrades to the front lip, side skirts, and rear lip.
The package with M Adaptive Suspension and 19-inch M Wheels, while the M Sport Pro package adds features like a rear M spoiler, red calipers, and M seat belts.
In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4554mm in length, 1845mm in width, and 1590mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2692mm, boasting a drag coefficient of just 0.27Cd.
In terms of interior features, the new car comes with a full LCD instrument panel paired with a central control screen in a curved dual-screen design. The infotainment system will be upgraded to the iDrive 8.5 system, supporting in-car navigation, intelligent voice control, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, intelligent driving assistance, and automatic parking functions.
The new car seats have also been completely redesigned. The standard version models are available in red-black or gray-white color combinations, with the front seats supporting optional heating, ventilation, and massage functions.
Meanwhile, the M35i xDrive adopts bucket seat design, greatly enhancing the sense of envelopment.
In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine, with a maximum power of 150 horsepower; the M35i xDrive will have a maximum power of 300 horsepower, with 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.4 seconds. As for the transmission system, the new car will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
