On February 26th, Xiaomi's Lu Weibing attended the 2024 MWC (Mobile World Congress) held in Barcelona.

During the event, global launch events for flagship phones such as Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 were held. Additionally, a Gulf Blue-colored Xiaomi SU7 made its debut.

During the event, Lu Weibing was interviewed by CNBC. He stated that Xiaomi has identified a niche market of consumers and will cater to it in the fiercely competitive market with the upcoming Xiaomi SU7. During the interview, he also mentioned that Xiaomi has invested $10 billion in developing a car, considering a range of price points from entry-level to luxury. The SU7 electric car was unveiled in China at the end of December last year, but specific pricing has not yet been announced.

Lastly, Lu Weibing revealed that the official launch of the Xiaomi SU7 won't be too far off, with domestic deliveries expected to commence as early as the second quarter. With a length of 4997mm, a wheelbase of 3000mm, and a height of 1440m, it supports 800V fast charging, providing a range of 220km with just a 5-minute charge. Moreover, it boasts a drag coefficient of 0.195, making it the world's lowest drag production sedan.

According to earlier reports, many people have spotted the Xiaomi SU7 on the streets. However, some have criticized Xiaomi for parading the SU7 around without making it available for sale. They see this widespread presence as a marketing stunt that lacks integrity.

In response, Lei Jun took to Weibo, stating that the SU7 is undergoing comprehensive road testing nationwide. He emphasized the importance of refining quality and user experience to a satisfactory level before the official launch.

Now, Lu Weibing has openly stated that the Xiaomi SU7 will be delivered as early as the second quarter, suggesting that Xiaomi's road testing may be nearing completion, paving the way for its commercial release.
