On February 26th, Realme's Xu Qi announced on Weibo, "I don't care, I will make a move. The Realme 12 Pro series aims to become the king of mid-range price-to-performance."
Netizens responded with comments like: "You're at it again."
Before the launch event of the realme GT5 Pro, Xu Qi had hinted at making a move, and the subsequent realme GT5 Pro indeed set a new industry low price for Snapdragon 8 Gen3 flagship at less than 3300 RMB. Now, Xu Qi is making another move, and users are eagerly anticipating the pricing of the realme 12 Pro series.
One of the main selling points of this device is its periscope telephoto imaging capability. The realme 12 Pro series is equipped with a 64-megapixel ultra-clear periscope telephoto lens, supporting 3X optical zoom and 120X digital zoom, which marks a significant improvement in telephoto imaging.
Tech blogger Digital Chat Station noted that with the realme 12 Pro series, not only did they use the flagship sensor OV64B, but they also brought flagship-level algorithms to the masses. In addition to the Ultra-clear Imaging Engine and Master Portrait, the realme 12 Pro series even includes features like the "moon in hand" effect, which not all high-end flagships necessarily have, bringing its telephoto capabilities to the level of imaging flagships.
Xu Qi emphasized that the shift to periscope telephoto comes at the expense of 200 million pixels, a decision based on the pursuit of better imaging experiences. Compared to digital zoom on ordinary mid-range phones, periscope lenses provide optical zoom capabilities that allow for clearer and farther shots.
In terms of core specifications, the realme 12 Pro series features a curved screen, a 5000mAh battery, the second generation of Snapdragon 7s chipset, a 32-megapixel front camera, weighing 196g, ensuring smooth usage for up to 4 years without any pressure.
The device will be officially launched tomorrow.
