Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Ready! Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon X80 5G Modem

On February 26th, Qualcomm officially unveiled the Snapdragon X80 5G modem.

The Snapdragon X80 boasts peak download speeds of 10Gbps and theoretical upload speeds of up to 3.5Gbps, while also supporting both 5G mmWave and sub-6GHz frequencies. s_8839bfc1c7d34d41ab5eb16724fafb63.jpg Not only that, but the Snapdragon X80 marks the first integration of NB-NTN satellite communication in a 5G modem, signaling the upcoming launch of more satellite communication terminals later this year.

What's even more significant is that the Snapdragon X80 is the industry's first 5G modem to combine AI and 5G Advanced, and it's also the first modem to achieve downlink 6-carrier aggregation. s_60b8b8c29f314af68df3e927d5f243b7.png The Snapdragon X80 5G modem and RF system architecture, as officially introduced, are geared to provide readiness for 5G Advanced across various product segments, including smartphones, mobile broadband, PCs, XR, automobiles, industrial IoT, private networks, and fixed wireless access.

The Snapdragon X80 is currently sampling, and following tradition, the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 slated for launch in the latter half of this year will integrate the X80.
