On February 26th, despite several price cuts, Tesla continues to dominate the industry with its hefty single car profits, a fact that Elon Musk seems quite proud of.

A user on the X forum compared the single car gross margins of major electric vehicle manufacturers including Tesla and BYD.

Tesla's single car gross margin stands at $7,000, while BYD's is $1,300. NIO sits at a negative $35,000, Ford at negative $36,000, Rivian at negative $46,000, and Lucid at negative $377,000. s_6cc4a0aa15d7470e9f64b045af91ae52.jpg Despite a reduction of around 35% in prices, Tesla remains at the forefront, and perhaps will always be. Elon Musk responded to this by saying, "Very interesting."

Previously, Tesla delivered 484,500 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2023, totaling 1.8086 million for the year. They produced 495,000 vehicles in Q4, with an annual production of 1.846 million vehicles.

According to BYD's data, their pure electric vehicle sales were 526,400 in Q4 2023, totaling 1.5748 million for the year, officially surpassing Tesla to become the global leader in electric vehicles.

On social platform X, a user made a comparison between the two companies. Tesla CEO Elon Musk also shared his perspective on this, stating that compared to traditional car manufacturers, Tesla's positioning is closer to that of an AI/robotics company. s_11d656e1f11e4a898a251ab0eacd6435.jpg
