43% of the global population is still not connected to the Internet: Huawei steps in to connect ever

On February 26th, Huawei Wireless Network released an article titled "Breaking information barriers, connecting the unconnected, and ensuring wireless signal coverage in every corner of the world."

The article points out that connectivity has become a basic right for everyone, yet approximately 43% of the global population still lacks access to the Internet. This is especially true in rural areas where the infrastructure is lacking, the population is small and scattered, making it difficult to deploy base stations, resulting in low return on investment. Traditional solutions are unable to meet the demands of the rural network scene.

Huawei offers a series of innovative solutions for rural networks to help achieve rapid coverage in rural areas. The Huawei RuralStar solution transforms towers into poles, supporting the installation of all equipment such as BBU/RRU/solar panels on the poles, enabling quick deployment.

Huawei's industry-leading microwave backhaul solution, RuralLink, allows for local deployment without the need for a BBU. It is paired with channel expansion antennas and digital-analog joint shaping technology, enabling extremely low-cost deployment of three sectors.

This solution is characterized by its simplicity, environmental friendliness, and ease of evolution. Compared to omni-directional sites, it provides a 2.5x increase in capacity, a 20% increase in coverage radius, and only takes one day for the entire site to be deployed. Additionally, each module supports 2G/3G/4G and is future-proof for 5G evolution.

Huawei states that wireless networks are becoming a new bridge, connecting the vast world and ensuring that no corner of the world remains an information island. s_286cd9a42eb34106bd98055cd0252d17.png
