On February 26th, it was reported that an altercation occurred on an overpass in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, on the 25th. During the incident, a man intervened to prevent further violence. The courageous individual was identified as Lawyer Sun Zijian from Zhehang Law Firm.

Subsequently, the Hangzhou Public Security Bureau's Shangcheng District Branch awarded him the Third-Class Public Security Honorary Medal.

Of course, this commendable act also earned recognition from BYD, with the company stating, "We have found Mr. Sun Zijian, the BYD Han owner who intervened in the incident. He is a lawyer. We applaud his courageous act! In order to promote and inspire positive energy in society, we have decided to provide Mr. Sun with lifetime free maintenance for his vehicle and reward him with 200,000 CNY."

Lawyer Ruan Changfeng, a partner at Zhejiang Haihao Law Firm, stated that the Bentley driver who assaulted the BMW driver could be charged with the crime of intentional injury. If the injuries are minor, the penalty could range from less than three years of imprisonment, detention, or control; if the injuries are severe, the sentence could be three to ten years of imprisonment; and if the violence leads to death or severe injury through particularly cruel means, the penalty could be ten years or more of imprisonment, life imprisonment, or even the death penalty.

Describing the scene, Sun Zijian said, "The Bentley driver used his foot to stomp on the victim's head, and he was quite ruthless. The BMW driver lying on the ground was no longer capable of resistance and seemed to be somewhat disoriented."

Authorities also advised that citizens who encounter such situations should immediately report to the police and avoid provoking the suspect. They should provide assistance to the victim only when it is safe to do so.

Furthermore, in an interview, Sun Zijian mentioned that he is a 39-year-old lawyer at Zhehang Law Firm in Zhejiang, mainly responsible for corporate legal counseling. "I consider myself a fairly conscientious person, and I would definitely lend a hand in such situations."

Reflecting on the incident, he recalled, "From the moment I saw him to when I intervened, it was probably just a few seconds. I didn't think much at the time; it was only afterward that I learned the assailant had a (tea) knife."

"I feel like I was saving two people, not just the victim."

"When you use violence against others, you are breaking the law from that moment. You might feel 'powerful' at the time, but if you commit a wrongdoing, the law will certainly punish you. No one is above the law." s_dfe5d492317949a3823ba3e8e654d153.jpg
