On February 24th, it was reported that Wang Jian (pseudonym), an experienced photographer, has reported over 1,000 traffic violations in the past six months, sparking a heated discussion online.
Since 2023, Wang Jian has actively reported over 1,000 cases of traffic violations through his photography skills. Despite receiving criticism from netizens, he remains undeterred and plans to continue his efforts.
In Wang Jian's opinion, he is doing a good deed by promoting a sense of self-awareness in everyone, which ultimately minimizes the chances of people making mistakes.
Similar incidents are not uncommon. Previously, a woman from Hubei province posted online claiming that she and her husband were trapped on a highway in Hunan province during the holiday season. To pass the time, she casually reported over 50 vehicles for traffic violations and received a reward of 1500 CNY.
After filming these vehicles occupying the road, she and her husband uploaded the footage of the violations to the convenience service platform of the Hunan Highway Police. Less than a week later, they received a reward of 1500 CNY.
As for the doubts raised by netizens, the Hunan Highway Police explained that if they come across illegal activities such as illegal parking, using emergency lanes, or crossing solid lines on the highways, they can report them through the "Report Violation on the Go" platform.
Once the reported information is verified, a financial reward will be given within 30 working days. The maximum cumulative reward for multiple valid reports by the same individual within one month shall not exceed 1500 CNY.
