According to blogger @小迪快报, BYD's first car roll-on/roll-off transport ship, Explorer No.1, has passed through the English Channel into the North Sea and is on its way to its destination port!

Earlier on January 15, 2024, Explorer No.1 held its maiden voyage ceremony at the Shenshanxiaomo International Logistics Port. On February 6, it passed through the Cape of Good Hope into the Atlantic Ocean, heading towards Europe.

According to the plan, Explorer No.1 will sail to the Port of Vlissingen in the Netherlands and the Port of Bremerhaven in Germany. The opening of this new route officially heralds the entry of domestic new energy vehicle companies into the shipping industry, ushering in the "self-transportation by national vehicles" mode. s_9bd48809928c4a11a12c4e8f0df43209.jpg It is understood that the Pioneer 1 is the first ship built by domestic shipyards specifically for the export of domestically produced automobiles.

With a total length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a designed draft of 8.6 meters, a designed speed of 19 knots, and a maximum capacity of 7,000 vehicles.

This type of car carrier vessel employs the latest LNG dual-fuel power technology to meet the diverse route requirements and accommodate various new energy vehicles.

Over the next two years, BYD will also put another 7 roll-on/roll-off ships into operation, with BYD's energy storage battery technology and shaft generator systems being applied on board. s_04908fa49e62494abb26c0204c3ef659.jpg
