Previously, several digital influencers hinted that due to the extensive use of premium components, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is likely to see a price increase. Today, Lu Weibing, the President of Xiaomi Group, confirmed this speculation.
A netizen asked in the comment section of Lu Weibing's Weibo, "Mr. Lu, the price this time is quite high," to which Lu Weibing replied, "Significant upgrades in configuration and experience, along with a substantial increase in costs, definitely warrant a price increase."
For reference, the base version of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 5999 CNY, while the starting price of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will exceed 6000 CNY.
In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra debuts with the stronger Xiaomi Dragon Armor architecture, featuring enhanced resistance to bending, shock, and abrasion. It also introduces the Xiaomi Jinsha River battery, which boasts the highest energy density in Xiaomi's history.
Regarding imaging capabilities, the device is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony Light Exuding Transistor (LYT-900) main camera, along with two telephoto lenses: a 75mm upright telephoto lens with an aperture as wide as f/1.8, and a 120mm periscope telephoto lens with an aperture as wide as f/2.5.
In terms of communication, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is Xiaomi's first flagship to support bidirectional satellite communication, and it comes with the built-in Xiaomi Surging T1 signal enhancement chip, which boosts cellular communication performance by up to 37% and Wi-Fi & Bluetooth performance by up to 16%.
