According to a message from Xiaopeng Motors' official Weibo account on February 14th, Xiaopeng Motors has initiated testing of its XNGP intelligent driving system during the Chinese New Year in rural areas. Throughout the test, the vehicle operates entirely without human intervention, ensuring smooth passing for oncoming vehicles and seamless navigation around obstacles.
According to the test video, in a scenario where the rural streetlights were dim and visibility was limited, XPeng's car encountered its first oncoming vehicle. The approaching car stopped to let the test vehicle pass. The XPeng car proceeded slowly, maneuvering past the oncoming section, barely brushing against the roadside soil.
Following that, the Xiaopeng vehicle smoothly maneuvered around a motorcycle and approached an intersection where the road markings were not very clear. At this point, with assistance from the intelligent driving system, the Xiaopeng car automatically came to a stop, steering as if it were "searching for the path." Once it identified the route, it decisively accelerated forward.
When a pedestrian riding an electric bike enters the field of view of the vehicle, Xiaopeng Motors takes the initiative to yield. At this moment, a car approaches from the opposite direction, and Xiaopeng Motors proactively stops to give way, completing the second encounter.
It's worth mentioning that while driving, Xiaopeng Motors encounters a section of obstructed road (where a wall blocks most of the view to the left, making it impossible for the tester to see the road). Despite this, the vehicle continues to move forward autonomously, making a left turn on its own and successfully navigating through this very narrow bend.
The whole process went smoothly, and XNGP intelligent driving mode by Xiaopeng Motors successfully completed the rural challenge.
According to previous reports, He Xiaopeng once said, "When it comes to intelligent assisted driving in China, just look at Xiaopeng." Although it sounds somewhat incredible, over the past year or so, Xiaopeng has proven through numerous OTA upgrades and user experiences that XNGP is indeed one of the best intelligent assisted driving systems in China right now.

Furthermore, during a recent Xiaopeng intelligent driving Chinese New Year launch event, Xiaopeng Motors also set new goals: to achieve nationwide coverage of major city road networks with XNGP by 2024, and to begin research and development on high-speed NGP for global deployment by 2025, followed by global research and development of XNGP.
