According to reports from the media, Elon Musk recently expressed dissatisfaction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) requiring Tesla to send paper mail notifications to users once again.

It is reported that a Tesla owner posted on the X platform the "recall" notification they received from Tesla. s_7182f973df044c2ab60390b6b90273dd.png The vehicle owner remarked, "I greatly appreciate NHTSA for using so much paper to tell me that my car has been recalled."

Furthermore, since Tesla's recall merely involves a remote software upgrade, the owner also stated, "My car has already been fixed, and I don't have to do anything."

Subsequently, overseas analyst Soye Merit retweeted the message and commented, "NHTSA indeed needs to modernize their requirements. This old mechanism is a waste of resources and money." s_656cd146c3d64dcdbcccd85f2e7f64cc.png In response, Musk also retweeted the above tweet and replied, "Yes, this situation needs to stop."

Of course, this isn't Musk's first time criticizing the NHTSA's actions.

As early as February 2023, the NHTSA stated that Tesla would "recall" over 360,000 vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving Beta software or those not yet installed with the software, out of concern that the FSD Beta system might lead to traffic accidents.

In response, Musk stated, "The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) using the term 'recall' to describe Tesla's data updates is outdated and completely wrong."
