ASRock has recently announced the release of a new BIOS for its Intel 600/700 chipset motherboards.
According to ASRock, thanks to the latest microcode from Intel, users who update their BIOS can expect up to a 10% performance improvement in CINEBENCH R23 for 14th generation non-K Core i processors.
External tests conducted by media outlets have shown that the new BIOS introduces a feature called "Disable CEP (Current Electric Power Offset)," which is enabled by default and can provide additional performance gains.
Below is a comparison chart showing the effects of enabling/disabling CEP. With "Disable CEP" enabled, various models of 14th gen non-K Core i CPUs show a noticeable improvement in performance.
However, currently only the BIOS for Z790 chipset motherboards has been released, with those for the 600 series and B760 series set to be released later.
