According to reports from February 10th by 快科技 (Kuaikuai Technology), both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are set to upgrade to 8GB of memory, which is 2GB more than the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
This indicates that the entire iPhone lineup is bidding farewell to the era of 6GB memory, with the iPhone 15 Pro series, released in the second half of last year, being the first to upgrade to 8GB of memory.
According to the data, starting from the iPhone 14 series, Apple will standardize 6GB of memory across all models. Moving on to the iPhone 15 series, the standard and Plus versions will still feature 6GB of memory, while the Pro and Pro Max versions will be upgraded to 8GB.
This time, the standard version is catching up with the Pro version by also upgrading to 8GB of memory. The larger memory will bring about better multitasking capabilities.
Additionally, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will adopt a design language similar to the vertical dual-camera design of the iPhone X, departing from the diagonal camera design seen on the 15 series.
Apple's adjustment of the camera position is aimed at enabling spatial video recording, allowing integration with Apple's in-house Vision Pro spatial computing devices.
The device is set to debut in the latter half of this year.
