Your Lunar New Year red envelope has caught the attention of Xiaomi and Huawei!
While the new generation of Android flagships has already made their debut, there are still two heavyweight models attracting everyone's attention: the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Huawei P70 Art.
Barring any surprises, these two models are set to meet everyone after the holiday and engage in a fierce battle in the realm of imaging. The latest leak suggests that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has entered the trial production phase and is set to begin mass production soon. It's tentatively scheduled for release by the end of February, likely after the Lantern Festival. Moreover, it seems that Lu Weibing has already started using the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, stating that its imaging capabilities are very, very, very strong.
The imaging setup of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is quite luxurious, featuring a quad-camera system with 50MP sensors across all focal lengths. The main camera of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra features the Sony LYT900 sensor, boasting a 1-inch large format, which is an upgraded version of the previous IMX989 sensor. It supports DCG dual conversion gain, ensuring significant improvements in daily image quality, low-light performance, and color reproduction.
Moreover, the main camera continues the infinite variable aperture feature seen in the Xiaomi 14 Pro, allowing adjustment between f/1.6 to f/4.0 for more professional imaging results.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will incorporate a 3.2x periscope telephoto lens, a 5x periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide-angle lens, expanding its coverage for various shooting scenarios. Furthermore, there are expectations for upgrades to the sensors of the three auxiliary cameras. In the previous generation Xiaomi 13 Ultra, all three auxiliary cameras utilized the IMX858 sensor, ensuring consistency in the imaging system's performance. However, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature a brand-new 50-megapixel sensor with a pixel size of 0.7μm per unit, promising improved light intake and detail rendition. Additionally, there are expectations of introducing a new imaging chip. In addition, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature a Leica Summilux lens, which offers a wider aperture for increased light intake and faster shutter response. Moreover, it will be equipped with multi-layer nano ALD ultra-low reflection coating, enhancing the lens's light transmission and addressing issues like ghosting and glare. In terms of other configurations, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature a similar quad-curved 2K screen as the Xiaomi 14 Pro, along with support for ultrasonic fingerprint recognition. Additionally, it will be equipped with a 5180mAh battery and support satellite communication and other functions.
Now let's take a look at what Huawei has in store.
Following tradition, the Huawei P70 series is reportedly set to debut towards the end of March or early April. As the flagship model in this series, the Huawei P70 Art's imaging configuration is also noteworthy. According to the latest leak from Station Brother, the Huawei P70 Art is expected to feature a triple camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel 4x periscope telephoto macro lens. The main camera of the Huawei P70 Art is set to feature the Sony IMX989 sensor, marking Huawei's first use of a one-inch sensor. With a single pixel area of up to 1.6μm and a pixel fusion reaching 3.2μm, it boasts exceptional light sensitivity, enhancing performance in low-light scenarios while still supporting physical variable aperture.
Additionally, there are expectations for the main camera of the Huawei P70 Art to adopt a 1G+6P glass-plastic hybrid lens scheme, further improving light transmission through the lens.
Moreover, Huawei continues to incorporate XMAGE technology in this smartphone. Despite the IMX989 being a generation behind, considering Huawei's tuning capabilities, the performance of this main camera on the Huawei P70 Art is highly anticipated. Furthermore, the Huawei P70 Art will feature a triangular design on its exterior, providing a distinctive and highly recognizable appearance. In terms of other features, besides the return of Kirin chipset and 5G support, the most notable highlight of Huawei P70 Art is expected to be the adoption of a brand-new satellite communication solution, which promises significant improvements in connection speed and stability. And we'll be adopting a 6.7-inch, 1.5K screen, also featuring the curved four-sides design, along with a larger capacity high-density battery.
So, who is everyone leaning towards?
