ASUS Launches Wi-Fi 7 PCIe Wireless Network Card: But Not Compatible with AMD Motherboards

Thu, Feb 15 2024 10:30 PM EST

ASUS has recently introduced a PCIe wireless network card supporting Wi-Fi 7, labeled as PCE-BE92BT.

In terms of specifications, the PCE-BE92BT slot is designed for PCIe x1 and supports tri-band concurrency at 2.4/5/6GHz. The speeds across these bands can reach up to 688/2882/5764Mbps respectively, totaling 9334Mbps.

According to the official website, thanks to Wi-Fi 7, the speed is doubled, promising improved connection efficiency and better network security.

Additionally, due to the new 6 GHz frequency band and 320 MHz bandwidth, it can reduce congestion and interference in Wi-Fi connections.

Moreover, the card also supports Bluetooth 5.4.

In terms of antennas, the PCE-BE92BT comes with external dual antennas with a base.

However, this network card is not compatible with all platforms. ASUS has specified that it requires a system compatible with Windows 11 and supports Intel 13th Gen Core CPUs or higher; it does not support all AMD motherboards.

As for why it doesn't support AMD motherboards, ASUS has not provided a clear explanation. 华硕上线Wi-Fi 7 PCIe无线网卡:但不支持AMD主板
