In addition to our previous report, where an expert managed to overclock the Radeon 780M integrated graphics of the Ryzen 7 8700G APU to 3.15GHz, this record has now been surpassed.
Overclocking enthusiast SkatterBencher, using the ASUS ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming WiFi motherboard with EK custom water cooling, unlocked the TDP of the Ryzen 7 8700G to 170W.
Simultaneously, they also increased the voltage of the Radeon 780M integrated graphics in this APU to 1.25V, achieving a maximum overclock of 3.3GHz.
It's important to note that due to AMD's strict voltage restrictions on APU products, users are advised not to exceed the standard settings unless using LN2 liquid nitrogen mode.
Finally, SkatterBencher conducted 3DMark tests at a frequency of 3.3GHz, and it seems quite stable, showing a performance improvement of 22.31% compared to the non-overclocked average. Unfortunately, this overclocking guru did not upload the results after overclocking.
This guru suggests that ordinary users can also learn this overclocking method and provides five relatively easy overclocking strategies: enabling PBO and EXPO, adjusting PBO 2 parameters to squeeze out more performance, manually adjusting frequencies related to IGP performance, overclocking the CPU, and switching to higher performance memory modules.
