20.69 Million Passengers! National Railway Sets New Record for Passenger Traffic

On May 2nd, according to official data from China Railway, on May 1st, the national railway transported 20.69 million passengers, setting a new record for daily passenger traffic volume.

The previous record was 20.09 million passengers on September 29th last year, marking the first time surpassing 20 million passengers in a single day.

On May 2nd, the national railway is expected to transport 17 million passengers, with plans to add 1,094 passenger trains.

As of 8 a.m. today, hot tourist cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, and others, as well as popular routes like Beijing to Shanghai, Xi'an to Chengdu, Guangzhou to Nanning, Beijing to Hohhot, Beijing to Taiyuan, Changsha to Wuhan, are experiencing relatively concentrated passenger flows.

Shenyang Railway Group has added 84 passenger trains to popular tourist destinations such as Dandong, Changbai Mountain, and Yanji, with 68 high-speed trains running in multiple units.

Beijing Railway Group has added 194 passenger trains, mainly heading to Shanghai, Taiyuan, Shenyang, Qingdao, Xi'an, as well as directions towards Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Qinhuangdao, Zhangjiakou, and Chengde.

Zhengzhou Railway Group has added 47 passenger trains, including 27 overnight high-speed trains to popular destinations.

Wuhan Railway Group has added 45 passenger trains on popular routes such as the Han-Yi Railway, Han-Ten High-speed Railway, and Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway.

Xi'an Railway Group has added 82 passenger trains to popular destinations like Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Baoji, and Hanzhong.

Jinan Railway Group has launched special tourist trains to Tai'an, Yanzhou, Zaozhuang, and other places in the Shandong Peninsula tourist circle, allowing passengers to experience the culture of "one mountain, one water, one sage" of the Qilu region.

Shanghai Railway Group has added 214 passenger trains to destinations like Guangzhou, Xiamen, Nanchang, Wuhan, Hankou, Zhengzhou, and Luoyang, with 203 high-speed trains running in multiple units and 133 regular passenger cars attached.

Nanchang Railway Group has added 171 passenger trains, including 15 overnight high-speed trains.

Nanning Railway Group has added 4 high-speed trains to Beihai, with 56 high-speed trains running in multiple units to popular destinations like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Kunming.

Lanzhou Railway Group has added 20 high-speed trains to Yinchuan to Xi'an North, Lanzhou West to Tianshui South, with 36 high-speed trains running in multiple units to popular destinations like Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Shanghai.

Urumqi Railway Group has added 23 passenger trains to destinations like Shanshan, Shihezi, and Korla.
