On April 17th, it was announced that this year marks the 100th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen University.

According to the official Weibo account of Sun Yat-sen University, today, the signing ceremony for the donation from alumni Lin Bin and Liu Xiangdong was held at the Huai Shi Hall in the south campus of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou. s_a0cf62cd1d30491c83316f5ef63102fd.jpg Co-founder and Vice Chairman of Xiaomi Group, Lin Bin, an alumnus of Sun Yat-sen University from the class of 1986, along with Liu Xiangdong, Chairman of the Lin Bin Liu Xiangdong Foundation and also an alumnus of Sun Yat-sen University from the class of 1986, has donated 100 million yuan to their alma mater in celebration of its centenary, as a birthday gift to support the school's development and construction.

Lin Bin expressed his gratitude, saying, "Grateful to SYSU, you have bestowed upon me endless wisdom and strength, enabling me to sail through life's journey and achieve what I am today."

It is known that Lin Bin co-founded the company with Lei Jun in 2010, serving as the company's president until 2019, after which he became the Vice Chairman.

During Xiaomi's early days, Lin Bin was responsible for the company's recruitment, human resources, administration, legal affairs, and finance.

He was also in charge of core supplier strategic partnerships, as well as the expansion of international business in countries such as India and Indonesia. In later stages, Lin Bin also oversaw domestic market sales, after-sales service, and the company's smartphone business.
